Industrial Maintenance Technician - 1st Shift

We are seeking a skilled industrial maintenance technician to join our team. This role involves troubleshooting and repairing both electrical and mechanical aspects of industrial equipment and machinery. You will play a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency of our operations by ensuring all equipment is running smoothly and safely.

Responsibilities:

• Perform electrical and mechanical troubleshooting on industrial equipment and machinery.
• Install, maintain, and repair industrial machinery.
• Communicate effectively with the maintenance manager and operations manager.
• Troubleshoot electrical systems up to 480 volts.
• Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs, photo eyes, sensors, and switches.
• Install, replace, and maintain VFDs.
• Handle hydraulic and pneumatic installation and repairs.
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
• Perform welding, brazing, and burning operations.
• Install and wire 3-phase motors.
• Work with valves, bearings, and gearboxes.
• Repair conveyors and spray booths.
• Adjust equipment for proper alignment and operation.
• Set up and operate lathes to grind various process rolls.
• Operate material handling equipment.
• Load and unload shipments of maintenance parts and materials.
• Maintain records, workplace organization, and housekeeping.
• Direct and oversee Repairman Trainees, Maintenance Helpers, and General Associates.
• Collaborate with the engineering department.

Essential Skills:

• Industrial Maintenance Schooling
• Blueprint reading
• Mechanical skills, including bearings, rollers, and hydraulics
• Electrical skills, including 3-phase and 480V systems
• 70/30 Mechanical/Electrical skillset
• Preventive maintenance
• PLC troubleshooting

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Experience in welding and fabrication
• PLC programming

Work Environment

Work in a manufacturing facility that features a mix of new and old equipment, including conveyor systems and spray booths. The facility operates in a union environment, with around 28 employees on the production floor and 5 in maintenance. Enjoy a first shift schedule from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with the possibility of overtime. Occasionally, you may need to cover for the third shift. This facility has been operational since the 1950s and fosters a culture of trust and communication. Our client serves the consumer, construction, and automotive industries.

Job Type & Location

This is a contract to hire position based out of CANFIELD, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.23/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
