Maintenance Engineer

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial machine control systems. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of various systems, including three wire and PLC controls, AC and DC motors, and mechanical power transmission drives. You will also handle pneumatic equipment, plumbing, carpentry work, and support the production equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Install and troubleshoot industrial machine control systems, including three wire and PLC controls.
• Install, repair, and diagnose both AC and DC motors, single and three-phase power systems up to 480 V.
• Install, repair, and diagnose mechanical power transmission drives and related systems, as well as pneumatic equipment.
• Install and repair general facility plumbing and perform carpentry work as needed.
• Support the preventive maintenance system and apply industrial lubricants.
• Properly handle and apply basic hand and power tools, and test equipment.
• Support the plant's production equipment setup.
• Execute setup, changeover, and disassembly requirements for breaders, mills, scalpers, and sifters.
• Responsible for the hookup and unloading of bulk rail materials, and the proper hookup of bulk material trucks.
• Maintain and upkeep robotic, conveyor, and bagging systems.
• Handle waste in compliance with EPA rules.
• Conduct daily inspections of forklift equipment.
• Adhere to company rules and procedures.
• Operate a forklift and lift up to 75 pounds.

Essential Skills:

• Experience with schematics and 480v systems.
• Proficiency in conveyor systems and troubleshooting.
• Electrical troubleshooting skills, including AC motors, overloads, and fuses.
• Ability to lift 75 pounds.
• Experience with pneumatic systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Hydraulics experience is a plus.
• Tow motor/forklift certification is highly advantageous.

Work Environment:

The work environment is primarily in a food processing setting, which can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. You may be required to work outside in the dock and rail yard. The facility contains a significant amount of flour and grain on site.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brookpark, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $27.50 - $27.50/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
