Maintenance Engineer
We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will perform routine maintenance tasks, conduct preventive maintenance activities, and diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic system issues. You will utilize technical manuals and diagrams to identify problems and determine appropriate repair procedures. Additionally, you will collaborate with production personnel and assist in training new maintenance staff members.
They will pay $26 an hour for a farm hand to be a maintenance tech apprentice. For a 2-3 year experienced maintenance tech they would hire them on at $28-$30.
Anyone who is mechanically inclined or has experience doing mechanic work on equipment would be a great fit!
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspecting, cleaning, lubricating, and adjusting machinery and equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance activities to ensure optimal performance and reliability of machines.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic system issues and perform necessary repairs promptly.
- Utilize technical manuals, diagrams, and blueprints to identify equipment problems and determine appropriate repair procedures.
- Respond to equipment breakdowns or malfunctions in a timely manner.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders and equipment history.
- Collaborate with production personnel to schedule maintenance tasks and minimize disruptions.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and suggest modifications to enhance equipment performance.
- Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Assist in training and mentoring new maintenance staff members, as needed.
Essential Skills
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
- Knowledge of maintenance best practices, including preventive maintenance and equipment calibration.
- Familiarity with tools and equipment used in maintenance and repair work.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and electrical schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Proven experience in the food industry or cheese manufacturing is preferred.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and work in a physically demanding environment.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed.
