Maintenance Engineer

As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and functionality of vehicle inventory at local auction houses. You will be responsible for identifying and repairing open recalls, maintaining parts, and adhering to safety protocols while providing professional service to all stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Travel daily to local auction houses as directed by the logistics coordinator or upper management.
  • Scan and identify vehicle inventory for open recalls and perform necessary repair work on approved vehicles.
  • Utilize provided lists for recall vehicles and complete repairs using available parts.
  • Follow recall document directions to ensure safe and proper completion of recall work.
  • Submit recall work as a job in Autoleap, including necessary information and media.
  • Upload photos of receipts into the Bill Pay app for expenses such as fuel, lodging, and flights.
  • Maintain a courteous and professional attitude towards team members, clients, auction staff, and security personnel.
  • Store and secure parts properly in their original packaging and keep them organized in your work vehicle and storage unit.
  • Prepare parts and organize them in the work vehicle and storage unit.
  • Return cores in their original packaging to the MRS hub.
  • Request parts using the current process, ensuring timely receipt.
  • Adhere to auction guidelines, safety protocols, and security measures.
  • Set a weekly schedule and provide it to the logistics coordinator or upper management.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical troubleshooting and installation experience.
  • Experience with hand tools.
  • Diagnostic testing and electrical skills.
  • 2+ years of experience in a trade involving installation or repairs.
  • Familiarity with computer software such as CMMS or Microsoft Office.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Willingness to work outdoors all day.
  • Ability to travel for up to 2 weeks away from home for training.
  • Ownership of a computer or tablet for training purposes.

Work Environment

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Independence, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00/hr.
