We are seeking a hands-on Production Technician to support daily operations in a large-scale industrial service facility specializing in heavy rollers and related components. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with substantial machinery, solving mechanical challenges, and being part of a skilled, team-driven shop environment.
Operate a range of industrial equipment such as saws, presses, drills, grinders, and similar production machinery
Safely move, lift, and position oversized components using overhead cranes, forklifts, and other rigging devices
Set up machines, load and unload parts, and oversee basic machine operation during production runs
Use hand tools and power tools to assist with mechanical, maintenance, and production support tasks
Measure parts accurately using calipers and other measuring instruments to verify specifications
Perform basic calculations related to dimensions, tolerances, and material requirements
Identify straightforward equipment or process issues and communicate more complex concerns to leads or maintenance staff
Maintain compliance with all safety policies while working around moving machinery and heavy loads
Ensure finished work meets quality expectations, production targets, and cost guidelines
Contribute to shop organization and cleanliness, including general housekeeping when production demand is low
Support teammates in a collaborative, union-represented environment focused on efficiency and continuous improvement
Take initiative by asking questions, learning new equipment, and helping where needed
Previous experience in manufacturing, industrial production, or a heavy equipment environment
Hands-on experience operating industrial machines or similar shop equipment
Mechanical aptitude with comfort using manual machine controls
Ability (or strong interest in learning) to operate forklifts and overhead cranes safely
Experience working with grinders, saws, presses, or comparable metalworking equipment
Strong attention to measurement accuracy and detail
Basic math skills for shop calculations and verification
Awareness of workplace safety and a consistent, safety-first mindset
Willingness to join the union after the initial employment period
Familiarity with calipers and precision measuring tools
Experience working with both older mechanical equipment and newer machinery
Team-focused attitude with clear communication skills
Willingness to assist with general labor and cleanup tasks as needed
Interest in long-term employment and skill development within an industrial setting
Initial training on day shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m. (approximately 3–6 months)
Transition to swing shift: Monday–Friday, 3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m. following training
Work takes place in a heavy industrial shop that can be noisy, dirty, and subject to seasonal temperature changes
Regular exposure to large equipment, overhead cranes, forklifts, and heavy components

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Federal Way, WA.
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
