Machine Operator $23-25/hr! 1st Shift 8am-4:30pm (West Chester)

The Cleanroom Technician operates specialized orbital welding and related equipment to produce high-quality welds on thin-wall stainless steel tubing in a controlled cleanroom environment. This role combines hands-on machining or welding activities with careful inspection, equipment upkeep, and adherence to safety and cleanliness standards. The technician works with moderate supervision, collaborates closely with experienced welders and supervisors, and actively pursues continuous improvement and skill development, including qualification under Section IX of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code for Automatic Welding.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a clean, organized, and compliant work area within the cleanroom environment.
• Follow all safety protocols, procedures, and guidelines while working with welding and machining equipment.
• Operate orbital welding systems and related machinery to standardize weld quality on thin-wall stainless steel tubing.
• Prepare, position, and align components accurately prior to welding to ensure proper fit and quality.
• Conduct visual inspections of welds using microscopes and other inspection tools to verify compliance with quality standards.
• Perform minor equipment adjustments and routine maintenance to keep machinery in optimal working condition.
• Use hand tools and cleanroom assembly techniques to support production and welding operations.
• Work collaboratively with welders and supervisors to meet daily and long-term production goals.
• Document work performed as required, including inspection results and equipment status, to support quality and traceability.
• Support continuous improvement activities by identifying opportunities to enhance weld quality, efficiency, and safety.

Essential Skills

• Operator experience with machining or welding equipment in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on welding experience or recent graduation from a welding program or welding school.
• Basic understanding of weld quality and inspection standards, including visual inspection techniques.
• Ability to work independently with moderate supervision while maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
• Commitment to continuous improvement and ongoing skill development in welding and cleanroom practices.
• Ability to become qualified in accordance with Section IX of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code for Automatic Welding.
• Experience working in a cleanroom or similarly controlled environment, maintaining cleanliness and organization.
• Proficiency in using microscopes and other inspection tools to examine welds and components.
• Ability to use hand tools safely and effectively for assembly and production tasks.

Pay and Benefits
