Electronics Test Technician

As an Electronics Technician, you will be responsible for assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and reworking electronic circuits and systems. You will interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and technical documentation, perform validation testing, and document the results. Additionally, you will assemble and modify mechanical parts and assemblies, as well as fabricate custom cables and wiring harnesses.

Responsibilities

Essential Skills

  • 3+ years of hands-on electronics experience.
  • Strong understanding of schematics, PCB layouts, and test equipment including DMMs, oscilloscopes, benchtop power supplies, and signal generators.
  • Proficient soldering and rework skills, including SMT components down to 0201 size, trace cut-and-jumper, 'tombstoning components' and adding 'blue wiring'.
  • Proficiency in the use of common hand tools including screwdrivers, cutters, pliers, drills, hand saws, and Dremel rotary tools.
  • High School Diploma required; AA in Electronics or military equivalent preferred.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with RF circuits and embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of PCB design software (e.g., Altium, PADS, KiCad).
  • Previous work in a manufacturing or R&D environment.

Work Environment

You'll be at the heart of our engineering lab, supporting design engineers in developing and refining innovative products. The dress code is manufacturing casual, and you will be provided with a HME coat and glasses. Physical requirements include the ability to lift up to 10 lbs regularly and up to 50 lbs occasionally (with assistance). You should be comfortable working with tools, machinery, and being exposed to electrical hazards and chemicals such as solder, flux, and cleaners.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Carlsbad, California.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $29.00/hr.
