Maintenance Technician

As a Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing production machinery and equipment. You will assist in performing maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, lighting, and general building systems, ensuring facility repairs are handled efficiently.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventive maintenance daily on plant production and supporting equipment, adhering to equipment PM specifications and schedules.
• Assist with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and control system repairs.
• Operate maintenance shop equipment such as drill presses, band saws, wheel and disk grinders, and various powered hand-tools.
• Maintain and organize replacement part inventories, expendable parts, supplies, and vendor documentation.
• Complete maintenance work orders, preventive maintenance documentation, and purchase orders accurately and promptly.
• Observe safety procedures in tool use and plant equipment operation, reporting any real or potential safety hazards.

Essential Skills:

• Industrial, electrical, and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to read and understand schematics.
• Experience with repair, installation, teardowns, and rebuilds of equipment.
• Proficiency with hydraulics and mechanical systems.
• Basic light electrical skills and building maintenance knowledge.
• PLC programming experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• GED or high school diploma required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in an industrial maintenance role.
• Knowledge of blueprints.
• Experience with mechanical and hydraulic components.
• Open to candidates with military experience relevant to mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and minor electrical work.

Work Environment:

The work environment is not climate-controlled. The position is on the 1st shift, from 7 am to 3:15 pm, with flexibility as needed.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
