Crane Operator

As a Crane Operator, you will be responsible for operating cranes to lift and transport stock, forging dies, trim presses, and other equipment around the forging presses and pre-heat furnaces. You will play a vital role in providing crane services for changing dies and related equipment, while also contributing to die scheduling and monitoring die temperatures.

Must be open to overtime and working every other weekend*

Responsibilities

  • Operate cranes to lift and transport stock and forging dies around forging presses and pre-heat furnaces.
  • Move various types of steel, aluminum, and titanium.
  • Provide crane service for changing dies and related equipment at presses.
  • Contribute to die scheduling and adjust schedules as needed.
  • Monitor and adjust die temperatures at the furnace.
  • Complete die cards and utilize the die board.
  • Transport dies using industrial trucks.
  • Occasionally provide direction during die changes.

Essential Skills

  • Experience within a heavy manufacturing environment.
  • Consistent experience operating overhead cranes.
  • 2+ years of heavy industrial crane experience.
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED).
  • Willingness to work all shifts and overtime.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Forklift operation.
  • Blueprint reading.
  • Experience with burn table, fabrication, sheet metal, and plasma table.

Work Environment

The work environment involves inspecting finished forged metals in a heavy industrial manufacturing setting. It can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. Metals weighing 20 - 350 lbs are moved via crane or automated robot, eliminating physical lifting requirements. Inspectors will have assigned work stations but will move around for different quality testing tasks.
