HVAC Service Technician – Commercial

About the Role

The Commercial HVAC Service Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial HVAC systems across a wide range of industries. This role requires a well-rounded technical skillset, including refrigeration systems, electrical diagnostics, controls, and mechanical layouts. The ideal candidate is reliable, adaptable, and comfortable working in dynamic service environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC systems
• Apply knowledge of refrigeration theory and electrical schematics to diagnose system issues
• Perform work involving pneumatics and electronic control systems
• Complete pipe fitting and welding/brazing tasks as required
• Interpret and execute mechanical drawings and layouts
• Provide timely, professional service to clients
• Comply with all safety standards and company procedures

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 2+ years of commercial HVAC experience
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record
• Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and work plans
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Skills & Certifications

• EPA Certification (preferred)
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and public holidays with short or no notice
• Physically agile and capable of handling demanding work environments
• Comfortable working in confined spaces and at varying heights

Work Environment

• Service commercial HVAC systems throughout Western New York
• Projects span a variety of markets, including: Industrial, Education, Healthcare and medical/research facilities, Retail, Historic preservation, Multi-unit residential buildings
• Flexible scheduling with exposure to diverse job sites and conditions

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Tonawanda, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $40.00/hr.
