Shipping Specialist

We are seeking a dedicated Shipping Specialist to join our team. This role operates Monday to Friday from 8am to 4:30pm, with optional overtime available earlier, later, or on weekends. The primary responsibility is to package and ship products, ensuring a high volume of shipments—approximately 100 per day—while maintaining quality and efficiency. The role involves lifting up to 50 lbs and working with UPS and our internal database.

Responsibilities:

• Unpack incoming items, check goods received against purchase orders or invoices, and maintain records of received goods, rejecting unsatisfactory items where necessary.
• Prepare and maintain records of merchandise shipped; post weights and shipping charges, and prepare goods for final shipment.
• Count and pack various sized products in boxes, cartons, or other containers; check material against packing lists for inclusion of all component parts.
• Assemble boxes and cartons and prepare special or non-standard packs when necessary.
• Follow specific instructions for correct carton, wrapping, arrangement of parts, and use of dunnage.
• Apply correct label, stamp, and/or other identification as directed and secure package with specified closure.
• Assist in training entry-level employees.
• Process inputs for receipts and shipments in ERP system.
• Maintain dock security.

Essential Skills:

• 2+ years of experience in shipping or receiving within a materials/warehouse environment.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Strong component identification ability.
• Proficiency in following the approved vendor's list (AVL) within the system.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• US Citizenship is required.
• Forklift operation experience is a plus, but not required.
• Experience with FedEx is advantageous.

Work Environment:

The work is conducted in a clean and fast-paced manufacturing facility located in Santa Ana. The facility is certified for AS9100 standards and operates under ITAR compliance, dealing with military and government projects. Contractors are required to obtain top secret clearance and ITAR clearance. The work environment is collaborative, focused, and offers the chance to engage with cutting-edge projects.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of SANTA ANA, CA.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $19.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
