Assembler II
We are seeking a skilled Assembler II who will be responsible for performing a wide variety of electronic and electro-mechanical assembly operations on assemblies or sub-assemblies. You will work with pulley, cable systems, and machined products, as well as integrated circuits. Your role will involve using basic hand tools for subassemblies and reading basic written work instructions while following SOPs to ensure product quality.
Responsibilities
- Build products against established routing times and according to the Operational Method Sheet (OMS), ensuring form, fit, and function.
- Complete product inspections to ensure product quality.
- Perform required audits for station, including Tool Audit, Kanban Health Audit, and Card Audit.
- Capture quality issues, continuous improvement opportunities, and test data and results within the PA Dashboard.
- Ensure transactional accuracy through Kanban card processing.
- Assemble and label proper quantities of each item at the station.
- Maintain cleanliness of the work area.
- Conduct tool audits at the working at a station.
- Understand Kanban health status and countermeasures where needed.
- Pay advanced attention to detail and escalate to Lead or Supervisor when a quality issue, defect, or process discrepancy is identified.
- Understand and identify quality issues as needed through intermediate understanding of the QN process.
- Determine priorities and ensure station, line, and plant KPIs are achieved.
- Engage in Continuous Improvement activities and identify potential CI opportunities.
- Proactively identify and escalate safety concerns.
- Identify incorrect process documentation and propose changes through redlining process.
- Participate in and uphold 6S activities with an intermediate understanding of all 6S principles.
- Hold self-accountable for individual behavior and results, adapting to operational changes.
- Stay current on processes and certifications to ensure sustainment in trained areas.
- Understand division and department priorities, goals, and metrics, seeking clarification if needed.
- Apply intermediate understanding of NBS Next principles to day-to-day activities and decision making.
- Maintain an open mind to learning, innovation, and change within Operations, processes, and division.
- Demonstrate proactivity to move up and down the production line and willingly accept other duties as assigned.
- Work with Lead or Supervisor to fill resource gaps when available.
- Show respect for others, demonstrate positive interpersonal skills, and accept/provide constructive criticism respectfully.
- Ensure successful and timely completion of all training in Master Control.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance and work extended hours, outside of regular shift schedule, as required by operational needs.
- Perform other duties as required.
Essential Skills
- Experience working in an assembly or manufacturing production environment.
- Simple oral communication skills, visual acuity, and manual dexterity.
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.
- Basic computer skills and ability to navigate programs.
- Reliability and willingness to work extended hours, outside of regular shift schedule.
- Attention to detail and focus on quality.
- Advanced ability to perform the roles and responsibilities of an assembler with proven expertise.
- Ability to lift 25 lbs or more.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- 2+ years of assembly experience or manufacturing production experience.
- Ability to read basic work instructions.
- Perform mechanical assembly.
- Use basic hand tools.

Work Environment
Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment with a large production floor. The facility is brand new, very clean, and well-ventilated. All production associates wear smocks and safety glasses provided by the company. New employees will be assigned a locker to secure personal belongings.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Carlsbad, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
