HVAC Service Technician
As an HVAC Service Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial and residential HVAC systems. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of refrigeration theory, electrical schematics, pneumatic and electronic control systems, pipe fitting, welding, brazing, and mechanical layouts.
Responsibilities
- Install, diagnose, and repair HVAC units using hand tools and following blueprints, wiring, and piping diagrams or engineering specifications.
- Operate refrigerant recovery equipment, vacuum pumps, charging equipment, and service gauges.
- Perform routine maintenance and operate HVAC systems along with any related equipment, ensuring safe and effective operation of facilities.
- Inspect systems to verify compliance with plans and specifications.
- Complete repairs, overhauls, and start-ups of commercial HVAC systems.
- Record temperature, pressure, and other readings on a log sheet at specified intervals.
- Document work by completing paperwork for each job and maintaining files.
- Maintain quality of work, performance, and productivity standards.
- Stay updated on manufacturers' products concerning installation, operation, maintenance, service, and repair.
- May need to work varying schedules and shifts to meet business needs, including overtime, weekends, or on-call hours.
Essential Skills
- Mechanical, electrical, and repair skills.
- Field service and preventive maintenance expertise.
- Ability to use a variety of hand tools.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills to component level.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Knowledge of VAV/VVT HVAC systems is preferred.
- Experience with building controls such as ATC Temperature Electronic and Pneumatic controls.
- Ability to travel to commercial sites.
- Possession of a valid driver's license.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Philadelphia, PA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $55.00/hr.
