Commercial HVAC Service Technician

The HVAC Service Technician will be responsible for the installation, operation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of temporary HVAC and climate control equipment at customer job sites. This role supports construction and industrial clients by ensuring dependable, safe, and efficient temporary heating, cooling, and dehumidification systems throughout the duration of their projects. This position is ideal for a hands-on technician who enjoys field work, problem-solving, and working on a variety of job sites rather than a single route.

Responsibilities

• Install, operate, and dismantle temporary heating, cooling, and dehumidification equipment at construction, commercial, and industrial sites.
• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs on portable heaters, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, fans, and related climate-control equipment.
• Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance on rental and customer-owned equipment.
• Assist with planning and setup of temporary climate control solutions based on project requirements and seasonal conditions.
• Load, transport, and unload equipment to and from job sites safely.
• Maintain accurate service records, work orders, and equipment documentation.
• Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and internal teams to ensure expectations are met.
• Follow all company safety policies and job-site safety requirements.

Essential Skills

• 5+ years of experience in HVAC troubleshooting.
• Electrical and mechanical skills.
• Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical issues in HVAC equipment.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel to regional job sites.

Work Environment

Work is performed at construction, commercial, and industrial sites with exposure to varying weather conditions and job-site environments. Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull equipment as needed. On-call or extended hours may be required during peak seasons.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Wayne, IN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
