The role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing refrigeration and air conditioning systems, ensuring optimal performance and compliance with design specifications.
Service, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC systems including chillers, air handling units, controls, and more.
Participate in the site's predictive maintenance program.
Operate systems and evaluate equipment to determine necessary repairs.
Install refrigeration and air conditioning systems by positioning key components according to design specifications.
Charge refrigeration systems with refrigerant gas and test for leaks.
Start units and adjust them for proper operation of refrigeration units, humidifiers, heaters, air cleaners, and circulating pumps.
3-5 years of commercial HVAC service experience.
Ability to read blueprints, sketches, and specifications related to air conditioning and refrigeration systems.
Broad trade knowledge of mechanical principles and standard shop methods in the HVAC trade.
Experience or certification in predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis, infrared, or ultrasound.
High level of computer aptitude, with proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel).
This position is based at a Naval Hospital on Camp Pendleton, with work hours from 2:30 pm to 11:00 pm. Flexibility for weekend work is required if scheduled.
The pay range for this position is $34.00 - $34.00/hr.
