Why Work Here?
Working here offers the benefit of a full-year work schedule, unlike many other construction and roofing jobs. The shipyard has recently secured significant contracts, including military projects for Coast Guard ships. There are ample opportunities for growth into more skilled positions such as Maintenance, Machining, Electrician, Foreman, Team Lead, or Fabrication. With Lake Erie being a central hub for Great Lakes transportation, the demand for shipbuilding and repair is constant, ensuring job stability.
Work Environment
This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy the outdoors, as most work is conducted outside, dealing with boats, ships, and water transport equipment. There are some larger boat hangars, but conditions can be hot in the summer and cold in the winter. The environment is perfect for those who thrive in the elements.
