Laborer

The role involves general grounds maintenance and the upkeep of all areas, including the exterior of buildings and roadways.

Responsibilities

• Perform tasks requiring mainly physical abilities and effort, involving little or no specialized skill or prior work experience.
• Load and unload trucks and other conveyances.
• Move supplies and materials to proper locations using wheelbarrows or hand trucks.
• Stack materials for storage or binning.
• Collect refuse and salvageable materials.
• Dig, fill, and tamp earth excavations; level ground using pick, shovel, tamper, and rake.
• Shovel concrete and snow; clean culverts and ditches; cut trees and brush.
• Operate power lawnmowers; clean gutters and roofs; remove carpet/vinyl flooring.
• May be assigned as flagger or fire watch if trained and certified.
• Move and arrange heavy pieces of material, furniture, equipment, and appliances.
• Spread sand and deicer on icy roads and walkways; pick up leaves and trash.
• Perform grounds maintenance laborer tasks.
• Assist in the spill response team.
• Obtain and maintain asbestos certification for the purpose of removing asbestos.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
• May perform work in other classifications when incidental work is necessary to accomplish the work assignment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent
• Must possess and maintain a valid State issued driver’s license with a good driving record.
• Must meet and maintain company physical and security requirements, including clearance eligibility when required.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must possess good communication skills for a service team environment.

This is a contract position based out of Bremerton, Washington.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.41 - $24.41/hr.
