Gaming Service Technician

The Service Technician installs, troubleshoots, and repairs a wide range of gaming equipment such as slot machines, claw machines, dart boards, and other amusement machines located in bars, gas stations, and entertainment venues. This role combines hands-on mechanical and electrical work with on-site customer interaction, ensuring that gaming machines operate safely, reliably, and efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer locations to perform service calls on gaming equipment installed in bars, gas stations, and entertainment centers.
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and basic technology issues with gaming machines and determine the most effective repair approach.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment to repair, adjust, and maintain slot machines, claw machines, dart boards, and other gaming devices.
  • Install and set up new gaming machines, ensuring proper electrical connections and correct configuration for safe and reliable operation.
  • Perform routine maintenance to prevent equipment failures and extend the life of gaming machines.
  • Document service activities, including issues identified, repairs completed, and parts used, in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Handle and transport tools, parts, and equipment safely, typically using company trucks for service calls.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with customers on-site, explaining issues, repair steps, and any recommended follow-up service.
  • Follow company procedures and safety guidelines while working with electrical components and mechanical systems.
  • Manage time effectively to complete multiple service calls during the 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday shift.

Essential Skills

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical equipment.
  • Hands-on experience using tools for installation, maintenance, and repair work.
  • Basic understanding of electrical systems as they relate to gaming or similar equipment.
  • Comfort working with technology-based equipment and electronic components.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to quickly identify and resolve equipment issues in the field.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record suitable for operating company trucks.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver tools and gaming equipment as needed for on-site service.
  • Professional communication and customer-facing skills for working at customer locations.
  • Reliability and punctuality to work a consistent 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday schedule.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience repairing electronics is preferred and considered a strong asset.
  • Experience in servicing, installing, or maintaining gaming, vending, or similar electro-mechanical equipment is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with using diagnostic tools and meters to test electrical and electronic components.
  • Ability to work independently in the field with minimal direct supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills for managing parts, tools, and service documentation.

Work Environment

This is a field-based role with most work performed at customer sites such as bars, gas stations, and entertainment centers. You will typically work a daytime schedule from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, Monday through Friday. The position involves driving company trucks to service locations, transporting tools, parts, and equipment, and working directly on gaming machines in active customer environments. The work is hands-on and can involve standing, bending, and lifting while using a variety of mechanical and electrical tools. You will interact regularly with customers on-site, so a professional and approachable demeanor is important.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Omaha, NE.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
