Food Service Worker

Join our team as a FANS Technician working primarily in a hospital kitchen, with a focus on barista duties. You will be responsible for making sandwiches, prepping food, and learning to prepare various coffee beverages. The hospital serves over 700 guests daily, providing a dynamic and fast-paced environment ideal for candidates with restaurant experience.

Responsibilities

• Wash dishes and maintain cleanliness.
• Slice and dice food items efficiently.
• Stock and organize food supplies.
• Prepare deli items and ensure freshness.
• Participate in trayline service, preparing food orders for patients unable to leave their rooms.
• Deliver a high level of customer service.

Essential Skills

• 1.5+ years of experience in the food service industry.
• Ability to maintain job tenure for 1.5+ years at previous employers.
• Capability to lift 50lbs and push 100lbs.
• Strong customer service orientation, adhering to professionalism in a hospital setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced restaurant environments.
• Self-starter with the ability to follow directions well.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily in the cafeteria, where appearance and hygiene are crucial. The culture emphasizes professionalism, with no facial piercings allowed, tattoos must be covered, and no heavy fragrances. The work schedule involves shifts from 4 PM to 1 AM, Monday through Friday, with rotation on weekends. Flexibility to be available between 7 AM and 10 PM is required, and shifts will rotate between the first and second half of the day.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Austin, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.75 - $18.50/hr.
