Field Service Technician

We are seeking a dedicated Field Service Technician to join our Services Team. This role is based fully onsite at our customer's aeronautical manufacturing facilities in Kinston, North Carolina. The position requires daily presence at the customer site and involves hands-on work in a dynamic industrial environment. You will work directly with CNC/PLC-controlled systems, performing diagnostics, calibrations, and process optimization to ensure optimal machine performance. Additionally, you will support machine acceptance activities and provide hands-on training to customer personnel while collaborating closely with our Service teams to coordinate interventions, respond to technical incidents, and contribute to Service initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair CNC/PLC systems, including alarm analysis and root-cause identification.
• Perform machine calibrations, adjustments, and process optimization tasks.
• Support machine acceptance procedures and deliver customer training on proper machine operation.
• Coordinate with internal Service teams to plan and execute service interventions and respond to customer incidents.
• Contribute to Services activities, including documentation, service reports, and technical support.
• Develop technical content for manuals (operation, troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance).
• Maintain thorough project records and ensure compliance with company policies.
• Communicate relevant project information to the project coordinator.

Essential Skills

• At least 5 years of experience with 5-axis milling centers or similar (CNC and PLC Fanuc) for the Aeronautics Industry.
• High School diploma, Associate's degree, or technical certification in a related field or higher preferred.
• Experience with Siemens Sinumerik – Sinumerik Operate CNC software and Siemens TIA Portal V15 PLC software.
• Strong troubleshooting skills using CNC & PLC software, including alarm tracing and root-cause analysis.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical schematics.
• Experience aligning 5-axis CNC machines using Renishaw laser interferometer, granite squares, dial indicators, or laser tracker.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Must have a Passport and the ability to travel to Spain HQ for training up to 7 days.
• Experience with programming languages and tools such as Visual Studio Code.
• Ability to work with SQL Server Management Studio.
• Availability to work onsite at the customer facility across all shifts, including weekends, and to work beyond 8 hours/day or 40 hours/week when required.

Work Environment

This role is situated in a manufacturing environment at the Airbus Facility. Regular working hours are Monday to Friday, from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, with the possibility of weekend support. The position requires flexibility to travel to customer locations across the US and occasionally to our headquarters in Spain.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $100000.00/yr. Company offers 401k Health Medical Dental.
