Field Service Mechanic

As a Field Service Mechanic, you will travel throughout Northern Minnesota, North Dakota, and Northern South Dakota, servicing equipment at various packaging facilities including FedEx, UPS, and Amazon. The position requires overnight travel for 6 weeks per quarter, while the remaining 7 weeks will involve day trips closer to St. Cloud, such as Brainerd, Alexandria, and Moorhead. A typical day may include driving to a facility, repairing conveyors or HVAC systems, and returning home. Repairs can take between 2 to 7 hours and may involve welding if you are capable. Overtime is paid after 8 hours each day, and you will travel in a company truck with another team member. Every Monday, you will need to drive to Burnsville, MN, to discuss the week's routes. This drive time is compensated, and carpooling options are available.

Responsibilities

• Execute preventative maintenance at customer facilities and replace defective parts.
• Align and test equipment for optimal performance.
• Adapt and custom fabricate solutions on the fly.
• Troubleshoot and track conveyor belts to meet facility specifications.
• Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, and attach motors and couplings with precise tolerances.
• Rig equipment and use dollies to position heavy machinery and parts.
• Work with electrical sensors and perform welding and fabrication tasks if capable.

Essential Skills

• Industrial maintenance experience
• Experience in conveyor maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Skills in welding, hydraulics, and electrical systems.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Willingness to travel to Burnsville for the first two weeks, with gas reimbursement provided.
• Ability to be on call 24/7 for emergency situations.
• Experience in conveyor systems is beneficial

Pay and Benefits
