Field Service Electrical Test Technician

Join our team as a Field Service Electrical Test Technician, where you will be responsible for maintenance and electrical testing of switchgear units and components. This role operates primarily on a 1st shift schedule, working four 10-hour days from Monday to Thursday, with occasional work on Fridays as needed. This position is based in Canton, OH, with travel mainly to Washington DC on occasion.

Responsibilities

• Perform field service and electrical testing of switchgear units and components.
• Utilize electrical testing equipment such as multi-meters, volt meters, and Hi-potts to diagnose and fix components.
• Assemble and wire control panels and switchboards for switchgear equipment using schematics.
• Bend and install conduit, including rigid and EMT types.
• Travel as needed for field service and maintenance tasks.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in electrical testing and wiring.
• Experience in field service and maintenance.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.
• Possession of troubleshooting skills for resolving wiring and component issues in switchgear equipment.
• Own tools for performing job duties.

Work Environment

Work in a large, industrial-commercial facility that manufactures substations, switchgear, circuit breakers, bus duct, and other electrical systems. The facility, built in 2010, has been recently renovated and is very clean, well-lit, and climate-controlled. The standard shift is from 5:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, with potential overtime of 5-10 hours per week. You will work alongside mechanical assemblers and other fabricators, contributing as a team player to complete jobs efficiently.

This is a position based out of Canton, Ohio.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
