Building/Facilities Engineer – Corporate HQ & R&D Campus

If you're a licensed Building Engineer who takes pride in keeping complex facilities running safely and efficiently — this is a rare opportunity to support a world-class corporate headquarters and R&D campus, not a revolving-door property.

This role supports a 240,000 sq. ft. Corporate HQ & R&D Center with executive offices, laboratories, and advanced building systems. You'll be trusted as a subject-matter expert, not just a work-order runner.

The Role at a Glance

  • Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
  • On-call rotation (shared, planned, and supported)
  • Location: Corporate Headquarters & R&D Campus

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on:
    • HVAC systems
    • Steam boilers
    • Chillers
    • Laboratory systems
  • Operate and troubleshoot:
    • Building automation systems
    • Fire & life safety systems
    • Security systems
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using tools, schematics, and blueprints
  • Interpret technical drawings for repairs, upgrades, and improvements
  • Coordinate contractors and support capital and maintenance projects
  • Maintain safety compliance and organized mechanical spaces
  • Participate in emergency response and on-call rotation

Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)

  • 2C, 2B, 1st Class, or Chief Boiler License
  • Hands-on experience operating steam boiler systems
  • Experience with fire tube or water tube steam boiler plants
  • Ability to clearly explain daily boiler water testing procedures and chemicals
  • 5+ years of commercial or corporate facilities maintenance experience

Valued Technical Skills

  • HVAC & stationary engineering
  • Preventive & corrective maintenance

  • Electrical & mechanical troubleshooting
  • Welding, pipefitting, and basic carpentry
  • Blueprint & schematic interpretation
  • Building automation systems

(Technical schooling is preferred, not required.)

Job Type & Location: This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Saint Paul, MN.

Pay and Benefits: The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms.
