F18 Flight Operations - General Mechanic

Perform maintenance operations on aircraft, aircraft equipment, engines, components, and systems in support of aircraft modification. This role involves Airframe & Powerplant repairs and may include Fuel Cell work.

Responsibilities:

• Remove, install, and rig flight controls.
• Conduct CDI or CDQAR inspections, including removal, installation, and functional checks.
• Perform high and low turns as a qualified technician.
• Remove and install hydraulic components.
• Conduct depot disassembly and rebuilds.
• Operate ground support equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, and technical manuals.
• Set up and use pneumatic tools and torque wrenches.
• Use common hand tools like wrenches and safety wire pliers.
• Remove and replace panels, floorboards, and other components using mechanical fasteners.
• Familiarize and work with large aircraft components such as airframe and powerplant.
• Communicate effectively with team members and document maintenance actions clearly.
• Perform duties while wearing required safety equipment and comply with health and safety regulations.
• Order parts and equipment as needed and perform additional duties as directed by management.

Essential Skills:

• Experience in aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents.
• Proficiency in using pneumatic tools and torque wrenches.
• Experience with large aircraft and components.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
• Capability to document maintenance and repair actions clearly.
• Adherence to safety regulations and ability to work on all shifts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• Familiarity with Airframe & Powerplant operations.
• Experience in depot-level maintenance.
• Ability to perform duties in various physical environments.

Work Environment:

Work in a military hangar with two shifts available: 1st Shift from 5:30 am to 2:30 pm, and 2nd Shift from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm, Monday through Friday. The environment is open-bay and non-climate controlled. Employees can expense up to $100 per year for Steel Toed Shoes.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Antonio, Texas.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
