Electrician

As an Electrician, you will utilize a variety of tools, testing instruments, and equipment to install, inspect, repair, maintain, adjust, and troubleshoot various electrical equipment. Your expertise will be essential in ensuring the reliable generation, distribution, and utilization of electric energy.

Responsibilities

• Perform a variety of electrical trade functions such as installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment for electric energy.
• Install or repair electrical equipment including generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, and conduit systems.
• Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications to accomplish tasks.
• Locate and diagnose issues within electrical systems or equipment.
• Conduct standard computations related to the load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment.
• Utilize a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
• Troubleshoot and evaluate electrical systems.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

• Four (4) years' experience in electrical maintenance work.
• Ability to read blueprints, bend conduits, troubleshoot, repair motors and controls, and install and repair AC and DC equipment.
• Thorough knowledge of switches, transformers, and transformer hook-ups.
• Capability to work on electrical equipment located at various heights.
• Obtain and maintain required explosives certifications when assigned to ordnance operations.
• Maintain hand tools of the trade to perform normal work of the classifications.
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment.
• Meet and maintain company physical and security requirements, including respirator qualification, and clearance eligibility when required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance, cleaning, and construction.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools.
• Ability to perform tasks such as loading and landscaping.

Work Environment

This position is based on a naval base, offering a unique and secure work environment. Employees are expected to meet company physical and security requirements, including respirator qualifications and clearance eligibility when required.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $46.78 - $49.11/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
