Electrical Technician/ Jr. Engineer

Responsibilities
- Lead operation, optimization, and troubleshooting of test infrastructure, including mechanical, electrical, and fluid systems.
- Fabricate and integrate complex test articles, equipment, and assemblies, such as fluid panels, welded structures, harnesses, electrical cabinets, PLCs, and circuit breakers.
- Support the design and build of test stands and infrastructure; document processes and recommend system-level improvements.
- Operate proprietary equipment and systems to support product testing and validation.
- Mentor and coach junior assembly technicians, promoting adherence to safety, SOPs, and quality standards.
- Work cross-functionally with manufacturing and engineering teams to collect test data, produce reports, and recommend design or system upgrades.
- Perform preventive maintenance and coordinate repairs on test infrastructure to ensure system reliability.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing methods, fabrication processes, and test infrastructure.
Essential Skills
- 5+ years of experience in electromechanical builds/rebuilds and troubleshooting.
- Strong understanding of industrial automation, electrical theory, robotics, and control systems.
- Experience using electrical testing tools such as a multimeter and voltmeter.
- Experience working with 120-480 voltage and 3-phase motors.
- Skilled in wiring, electrical and mechanical repair, and system-level debugging.
- Experience with software tools for control system diagnostics (PLC/HMI/etc.).
- Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Experience with mechanical systems: pumps, motors, gears, air compressors, pressure vessels, and hydraulics.
- Ability to work overtime hours, including after hours and weekends.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience working in a manufacturing, start-up, or R&D environment.
- Experience with high-current, high-voltage, or high-amperage wiring systems.
- Associate's Degree in mechanical technology, mechatronics, electronics technology, or related field.
- Ability to write and improve manufacturing assembly work instructions for hardware and electrical systems.
- Ability to work standing, kneeling, or on ladders.
- Proficient in Microsoft applications.
- Ability to lift 75+ lbs.

Work Environment
Work in a climate-controlled assembly shop and corporate headquarters offices. The work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm, with required overtime, including after hours and weekends. The team consists of friendly, driven, and passionate individuals dedicated to the mission.
Job Type & Location
This is a contract position based out of Austin, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $45.00/hr.
