HVAC Service Technician (Commercial)

We are seeking a skilled Commercial HVAC Service Technician to perform maintenance and troubleshooting tasks in commercial and industrial settings. The role involves preventative maintenance, repair of HVAC equipment, and diagnosing breakdowns. You will work independently and as part of a team to ensure the optimal functioning of heating and cooling systems.

Responsibilities:

• Perform assigned HVAC maintenance and troubleshooting tasks safely in commercial and industrial settings.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and repair of commercial HVAC equipment as needed.
• Diagnose causes of breakdowns, test parts with appropriate instruments, disassemble and assemble parts, and make necessary repairs to equipment and associated components.
• Service, diagnose, and troubleshoot various types of split systems, packaged rooftop units, heat pumps, DX systems, pneumatic, electrical control systems, and other mechanical equipment.
• Use your HVAC skills and experience to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain medium to large-sized complex heating and cooling systems and associated control systems.
• Complete required electronic documentation daily on a handheld device.
• Operate company vehicle to complete service calls in a specified territory.
• Perform other related duties or special projects, as assigned.

Essential Skills:

• 5 or more years of experience repairing and troubleshooting commercial HVAC/R equipment.
• EPA universal certification.
• Experience with RTU, air handlers, split systems, chilled water or boiler systems is preferred.
• Ability to pass MVR check.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• OSHA 10 certification preferred.
• Experience maintaining boilers - 100 ton units.
• Refrigeration license and journeyman HVAC certification are a plus.

Work Environment:

This role operates Monday to Friday, 7:00 am - 5:00 pm, with potential for 50-60 hours during busy summer periods. Some weeks may consist of four 10-hour days. Technicians will service various industrial and commercial properties, often working on roofs and in open climates. Carpooling to sites is available.

Job Type & Location:

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Roanoke, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
