CNC Machinist

We are seeking a skilled machinist to join our team, specializing in machining with multi-axis lathes and Haas mills. The ideal candidate will have experience in setting up machines with the proper tooling, inspecting parts, and performing minor program edits.

Responsibilities

• Perform machining tasks using multi-axis lathes and Haas mills.
• Set up machines with the proper tooling and make necessary tool changes.
• Inspect parts using dial micrometers, digital calipers, and height gauges.
• Perform minor program editing on machines.
• Execute both short and long production runs, ranging from 8-10 parts to runs lasting 3-4 days.
• Conduct at least 2-3 machine setups per week.
• Use iPads for documentation and quality inspection.
• Work primarily with aluminum and steel materials.

Essential Skills

• 1+ years of recent experience with mills or lathes.
• Comfortable with machine setup and tooling.
• Ability to inspect parts using micrometers and calipers.
• Familiarity with blueprint reading.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with multi-axis lathes is a plus.
• Experience with Haas mills is advantageous.
• Experience with machine setups is beneficial.

Work Environment

The machine shop is clean, organized, and climate-controlled, employing 10-12 individuals. It is a dedicated area within a larger company that employs close to 100 people, focusing on electronic and mechanical drive technology and control systems.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Chaska, Minnesota.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
