CNC Machinist - 1st or 2nd Shift Opening - Pay up to $30/hr

Job Description:

We are seeking skilled CNC Machinists to join our team in a job shop environment, where you will work with large machined parts including weldments. This position requires proficiency in operating various CNC equipment, including large vertical and horizontal mills. You will be responsible for machining quality parts from prints and work orders in a timely and accurate manner.

Responsibilities:

• Operate CNC equipment efficiently and accurately to machine quality parts.
• Perform own set-ups and programming at the machine as needed.
• Ensure proficiency with feeds, speeds, tooling, and shop math.
• Edit programs and set up tools, including setting length offsets.
• Read and interpret custom blueprints for one-off custom fabrications.
• Complete spot checks and ensure all measurements and tolerances are met.
• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during operations.

Essential Skills:

• CNC 3 Axis experience.
• Experience with set-ups at the machine.
• Ability to work independently without supervision.
• Proficient in custom blueprint reading.
• Experience with both vertical and horizontal mills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• 2-3 years of experience in a similar role.
• Ability to study product and consumer requirements along with engineering, estimating, and manufacturing.
• Experience in collecting material samples and conducting physical tests and analysis.
• Ability to set standards for in-process, finished product, and rework.
• Commitment to eliminating downtime in machining operations.

Work Environment:

This role offers a choice between first shift from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm and second shift from 3:30 pm to 2:00 am, with a shift differential of 1.25-1.50. The work environment includes operating two mill machines, one of which is a 30-foot horizontal machine. You will be part of a team of 10 machinists, with the majority on the first shift and one on the second shift. Flexibility with hours is available, and the dress code is consistent with standard machining environments.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kent, OH.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $41600.00 - $58240.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
