Building Engineer - DFW

Job Description
The Building Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems for the assigned properties. This includes maintaining a clean and safe working environment, conducting routine assessments, performing day-to-day preventive and corrective maintenance, painting, and housekeeping.
Responsibilities
- Perform all plumbing, electrical, and HVAC tasks required for facility operation and maintenance.
- Service and maintain HVAC equipment such as heating systems, chillers, DX units, pumps, cooling towers, fan coil units, VAVs, and air distribution systems.
- Monitor and adjust mechanical and pneumatic systems to ensure optimal comfort within the building.
- Conduct field inspections and perform necessary repairs or adjustments to maintain operational integrity.
- Monitor building energy usage and support initiatives to improve efficiency.
- Repair and maintain doors, ceilings, hand railings, floors, and other structural elements throughout the property.
- Service plumbing fixtures such as toilets, urinals, flush valves, and lavatories.
- Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks in line with building protocols and industry best practices.
- Inspect engine rooms, fan rooms, cooling towers, motors, pumps, electric rooms, backup generators, fire pumps, sump, and ejector pumps regularly.
- Replace lamps and fixtures, update signage, and ensure all rooms are clean and free of obstructions.
- Verify emergency exit signs and lighting are operational.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and facility maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot refrigeration systems and HVAC equipment.
- Experience with preventive maintenance and repair of facilities.
- Competence in using system management programs.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience with building maintenance and energy management systems.
- Ability to perform inspections and adjustments to maintain operational integrity.
- Proficiency in lighting and signage maintenance.
- Knowledge of fire and life safety compliance.

Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Grand Prairie, Texas.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
