Position Overview

We are seeking skilled and mechanically inclined Bindery Operators to join the Core Publishing Solutions team. This role involves machine setup, equipment monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintaining high-quality production standards. Flexibility to work multiple shifts and occasional overtime is required.

Key Responsibilities

• Review job specifications for materials and setup requirements.
• Monitor equipment performance and product quality; coordinate maintenance as needed.
• Perform simple to moderately complex troubleshooting on equipment and product flow.
• Communicate effectively during the shift and at shift hand-off.
• Evaluate mechanical condition and complete preventative maintenance tasks.
• Utilize computer-based workflow applications to manage files.
• Accurately document activities in systems such as MII, SAP, and on Tier Boards.
• Assist with feeding, catching off, stacking, bundling, and cycle counts.
• Actively participate in safety programs and support a safe work environment.
• Meet or exceed production and quality standards using standard work procedures.
• Generate and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Participate in project teams and provide backup to other operators.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching.
• Wear required PPE, including steel-toe shoes and ear protection.

Essential Skills

• Experience with press machines, bindery equipment, and general machine operations.
• Ability to troubleshoot printing and press equipment.
• Understanding of bindery or subscription operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience using computer-based workflow applications.
• Familiarity with MII and SAP systems.
• Ability to develop and implement process improvements.

Work Environment & Shift Details

Work in a large industrial printing and bindery facility alongside a close-knit production crew focused on safety, quality, and efficiency.

Shifts Available:

• 1st Shift: 6:30 AM – 2:30 PM
• 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM
• 3rd Shift: 10:30 PM – 6:30 AM

Job Type & Location:

This is a Permanent position based out of Eagan, MN.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $67000.00/yr. Sign-on bonus of $2,500 after 90 days. Safety is a significant part of the culture. Excellent benefits packages are offered. The company utilizes lean manufacturing processes across the board. There is a shift differential of $3/hr for the 2nd shift and $5/hr for the 3rd shift. Employees typically start on the 2nd or 3rd shift and can be promoted internally to the 1st shift. Approximately 20-25 people retire each year, providing growth and career-building opportunities.
