Field Service Technician – Vision & Automation Systems - +Bonuses
Location: Preferably based near Lincoln or Omaha, NE (remote candidates considered)

Pay Range: $27.50 – $50.00/hour (DOE)
Position Overview
We are seeking a motivated and technically skilled Field Service Technician to support the installation, testing, and commissioning of high-speed automation systems, including vision, camera, and scanning technologies. This role involves extensive travel to client sites, primarily in the mail and package handling industry, and offers the opportunity to work hands-on with cutting-edge automation equipment.
Key Responsibilities
- Install and commission vision, camera, and scanning systems at vendor and client sites.
- Support base-level commissioning of new automation systems.
- Assist with system start-up, debugging, and troubleshooting.
- Create training materials and system documentation as needed.
- Provide remote support to clients and internal teams.
- Participate in formal training programs to expand technical expertise.
- Submit daily reports summarizing progress and outlining remaining tasks.
- Accurately track time and expenses related to project work.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- 1+ year of mechanical and electrical assembly and troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to read and follow AutoCAD drawings for system layout and troubleshooting.
- Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
- Proven time management and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable working in live production environments.
- Must be able to rent a vehicle for travel.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Two-year technical degree.
- 1+ year in a field service technician role.
- 3+ years of related experience.
- Experience with automated vision systems.
- Background in mechanical and electrical systems.
- Robotics experience from companies like Aescita, Fiserv, or Pitney Bowes is a plus.
Work Environment
- Travel: 80% travel required; typical trips run Monday–Friday but may include weekends depending on client needs.
- On-Site: Work at client facilities with packaging and conveyor systems (e.g., USPS, Amazon).
- Home Base: Climate-controlled warehouse with large automation and robotics systems.
- Team Size: Small team of 3 technicians.
- Dress Code: Company polo (provided), jeans, closed-toe shoes.
Schedule & Training
- Daytime hours as needed by clients.
- Shop hours: 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday–Friday.
- Overtime available for hourly staff.
- Initial training: 6+ months alongside an experienced technician.
- Regular check-ins at 30, 60, 90, and 120 days.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $57200.00 - $70720.00/yr.
This is a hybrid position in Omaha, NE.
