Apprentice Building/Facilities Engineer – Corporate Hq & R&D Campus

1st Shift | Training Provided | Growth Path to Licensed Engineer | $25–$30/hr

If you're early in your Building Engineering career and want hands-on experience in a complex, modern corporate headquarters and R&D campus, this is a rare opportunity to learn from experienced licensed engineers β€” not just change filters all day.

You'll support a 240,000 sq. ft. Corporate HQ & R&D Center with executive spaces, laboratories, and advanced building systems. This role is designed for someone who wants to grow into a fully licensed Boiler or Building Engineer with long-term stability.

The Role At A Glance

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

On-call: Light rotation once trained

Location: Corporate Headquarters & R&D Campus

What You'll Be Responsible For

Hands-on learning and support in:

  • Preventive maintenance on:
    • HVAC equipment
    • Pumps, motors, and air handlers
    • Steam boiler systems (with supervision)
    • Chillers and cooling towers
  • Assisting with troubleshooting:
    • Building automation systems
    • Fire & life safety systems
    • Electrical and mechanical issues

As you grow, you will:

  • Learn to read basic schematics and blueprints
  • Support small repairs and equipment adjustments
  • Help maintain clean, safe mechanical rooms
  • Escort and coordinate contractors
  • Participate in emergency and on-call support (once trained)

Required Qualifications

  • 1–2+ years of commercial facilities, maintenance, HVAC, or mechanical experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Basic understanding of tools, safety practices, and building systems
  • Interest in earning boiler or engineering licenses (company will support training)

Valued Skills

  • HVAC basics
  • Mechanical or electrical troubleshooting
  • Light carpentry, plumbing, or pipefitting exposure
  • Ability to follow SOPs, safety standards, and task checklists
  • Familiarity with building automation systems is a plus

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $48.00/hr.
