General Helper

This position involves working inside trailers designed for major delivery companies. The role requires assisting the main maintenance technician with tasks such as bending conduit, running wire, and general maintenance support. Proficiency with basic hand tools and power tools is essential, and there is an opportunity to learn conduit bending techniques.

Responsibilities

• Assist the main maintenance technician with various tasks.
• Help with conduit bending using a crow bar and pipe bender.
• Run wires as directed by the main maintenance technician.
• Utilize basic hand tools and power tools effectively.
• Operate an impact drill and small handheld saw.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed at all times.

Essential Skills

• Experience with basic hand tools.
• Proficiency in using power tools.
• Ability to assist in conduit bending.
• Knowledge of electrical wiring and commercial electrical tasks.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• No specific qualifications are required.
• Experience in carpentry or construction is a plus.
• Reliability and a strong work ethic are highly valued.

Work Environment

This role is based in a small shop where no steel-toed shoes are required, and shorts are acceptable. Tools and safety glasses are provided. While the work is primarily indoors, the large bay doors remain open, allowing for a cooler environment. Occasionally, tasks may require stepping outside.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Windber, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $15.00 - $17.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
