Pickers/Packers in Dayton
As a Picker/packer, you will play a crucial role in the logistics and operations team by ensuring the efficient movement of goods within the warehouse. You will be responsible for receiving, shipping, and handling materials, as well as operating necessary equipment to facilitate these processes.
Responsibilities:
- Unload trucks, trailers, or other vehicles and move merchandise to the appropriate areas.
- Load finished goods from the production area onto trailers for shipment.
- Relocate materials within the warehouse as necessary, moving necessary components from storage to production activities.
- Prepare and complete necessary documentation for receiving forms, shipping documents, and production tallies.
- Regularly operate equipment such as personal computers, printers, bar code scanners, telephones, faxes, and copiers.
- Handle the movement of pallets on and off trailers, racks, and other locations using site equipment like stand-up and sit-down forklifts, pallet jacks, and clamp equipment.
- Utilize personal computers for producing bar-code labels, inventory information, and receiving & shipping paperwork.
- Operate bar-coding equipment to move and locate material within the plant.
- Operate hand or power-driven trucks for receiving, shipping, and production coverage activities.
- Use scales and stretch wrap equipment necessary for distribution activities.
- Maintain good housekeeping and safety standards within the department.
- Follow all applicable waste and scrap reduction, recycling guidelines.
- Receive Hazardous Waste Operation (HAZWOPER) training and certification as required.
- Adhere to the daily production schedule and prioritize job duties to ensure assignments are completed.
Essential Skills:
- Proficiency in shipping and receiving operations.
- Experience with material handling and inventory management.
- Ability to operate sit-down forklifts and RF scanners.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Accountability for following all Quality, GMP, and cleaning standards and guidelines.
- Adherence to current work instructions and Quality Control Plans.
- Ability to perform Statistical Process Control Charting and take corrective action.
- Good housekeeping practices.
- Familiarity with ISO internal management systems.

Work Environment:
The work environment typically involves working 40 hours per week, with opportunities for voluntary overtime, including weekends. You will frequently stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform various physical activities. The work is conducted both indoors and occasionally outdoors with seasonably normal temperatures. Proper use of PPE is required at all times.
Pay and Benefits:
The pay range for this position is $18.25 - $18.25/hr.
