Senior Structural Engineer – Fluent in Catalan

The Transportation business line in Spain is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to support the growth of our Structural Engineering discipline. Our team delivers structural assessments and designs from concept to detailed development across a diverse portfolio, including railway stations, public buildings, refurbishments, and high-rise structures. We have a strong track record of successfully delivering structural design solutions in multiple countries.

We are looking for a proactive and technically skilled professional to help advance the solutions we offer our clients locally in Catalonia, as well as in national and international contexts. Ideal candidates will bring solid experience in structural design and calculations.

The responsibilities of the role are primarily:

• Perform structural calculations and design for various building types, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and project requirements.
• Develop technical documentation, including calculation reports, design narratives, and specifications.
• Create and manage Finite Element Analysis (FEA) models, integrated within BIM platforms to support collaborative design workflows.
• Participate in client meetings, providing technical input and ensuring alignment between structural solutions and client expectations.
• Ensure effective interdisciplinary coordination, working closely with architecture, MEP and other disciplines to deliver integrated design solutions.
• Support project planning and technical management, contributing to timelines, deliverables, and resolution of design challenges.

Here's what we're looking for:

• Structural & MSc Civil Engineer with at least 8 years' experience in Structural Design/Calculations and Building Engineering.
• Fluency in English, Spanish and Catalan languages will be essential, verbal and written.
• Knowledge in Codes/Standards such as: Spanish National Codes, AASHTO/ACI/ASTM, Eurocodes.
• Experience in structural software packages such as MIDAS-Civil, ETABS or similar will be essential. Familiarity with BIM platforms will be a plus.
