Senior Secondary Engineer

Due to a strong project pipeline, we are looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our Energy Team as Senior level Secondary Systems engineer based in Melbourne. This would suit an experienced Secondary Systems Engineer with prior experience in technical leadership on projects with strong knowledge of Australian Design Standards. You will be working on some major projects across both the transmission and distribution space.

How you'll make a difference:

  • Take ownership of assigned project tasks, including preparing and reviewing detailed designs, verifying technical deliverables, and ensuring compliance with project requirements.

  • Work closely with our multidisciplinary team of Engineers in a client-facing capacity, fostering positive relationships and contributing to collaborative problem-solving across projects in transmission, distribution, renewables, traction power, and the building services sector.

  • Provide specialist input into the design and implementation of protection and control systems, ensuring alignment with Australian Standards and project specifications.

  • Assist with the preparation of bids, tenders, and technical documentation to support business development opportunities.

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar) with RPEV (or equivalent) or eligibility to obtain.

  • Demonstrated technical competency and project delivery experience in Secondary Systems, ideally with 8+ years of industry experience.

  • Ability to work independently on protection and control projects, while maintaining effective collaboration with colleagues and clients.

  • Proven experience in preparing detailed scope and specifications, delivering and reviewing designs, producing technical reports, and undertaking relay configurations.

  • Strong knowledge of sub-transmission and distribution system protection and control, with a solid understanding of applicable Australian Standards.
