Senior Hydraulic Engineer

As we look to grow our Buildings Services Team, we are currently looking for a Senior Hydraulic Engineer to join the team, based in Brisbane or Melbourne. How you'll make a difference:

  • Lead the delivery of technically complex hydraulic designs across major building projects, ensuring compliance with NCC, Australian Standards, and local authority requirements.
  • Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary engineers, technicians, and designers to solve technical challenges and ensure integrated, high-quality project outcomes.
  • Partner with project managers and team leaders to align on priorities, resourcing, and program delivery, contributing to project success and team performance.
  • Engage directly with external clients to define project scopes, manage expectations, and deliver practical engineering solutions.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers and designers through technical guidance, reviews, and knowledge sharing to build team capability and excellence.

  • Ideally, 5+ years' professional experience in building services or hydraulic engineering consultancy, ideally with Chartered status or working toward professional registration (e.g., CPEng, RPEQ, or Registered Design Practitioner).
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality technical documentation, specifications, reports, and drawings for hydraulic systems across a range of building typologies.
  • Strong knowledge of the NCC, relevant Australian Standards, Fire and Rescue requirements, and local authority statutory approvals processes.
  • Proficiency with engineering and documentation tools such as MS Office, Bluebeam, and relevant hydraulic design software.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to collaborate across disciplines and interact confidently with clients and internal teams.

Please note, due to the nature of the projects Australian Citizenship is required, with previous or current defense clearance highly regarded.
