Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Our Ground Engineering and Tunnelling team is looking for a Senior or Principal level Geotechnical Engineer to join our team based in either our Brisbane, Sunshine Coast or Gold Coast office.

This role will give you the opportunity to work on a variety of projects and alongside industry leaders collaboratively delivering strong technical solutions for our clients.

How you'll make a difference

  • Manage and deliver complex ground engineering and investigation programs, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary and site teams to achieve high-quality project outcomes.
  • Lead geotechnical design teams and projects, guiding delivery from options analysis through to detailed design across Queensland and the broader ANZ region.
  • Support team growth and development, mentoring junior engineers and contributing to a positive, inclusive, and high-performing team culture.
  • Collaborate within a global network, engaging with AECOM's international technical practice group, ensuring quality, efficiency, and strong client relationships across all project stages.

The qualities that help you thrive

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications & CPEng / RPEQ (or working towards accreditation).
  • Strong project management capability, with proven experience delivering complex ground engineering, dam, or major investigation programs on time and within scope.
  • Background in design consultancy, with technical understanding and the ability to manage project delivery requirements effectively.
  • Passion for client service and collaboration, supported by excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and relationship-building skills.
