Senior Civil Engineer

At AECOM, we're delivering some of the most significant transport infrastructure projects across Australia, and with a strong pipeline of highways work across Queensland, we're looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Brisbane team and help shape the region's future.

Our Brisbane highways team is in a particularly strong position, actively delivering a diverse mix of projects across state and local government clients, including TMR, while continuing to secure new work through ongoing infrastructure investment. There's real momentum in the team right now, with a balance of current delivery and upcoming opportunities, backed by collaboration across our broader ANZ network, so you'll have consistent project exposure, strong technical support, and the chance to see your designs come to life alongside a genuinely great group of people.

How you'll make a difference

  • Deliver detailed design across highways, arterial roads and intersections aligned with TMR standards
  • Contribute to the delivery of major transport infrastructure projects across Queensland
  • Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams across ANZ
  • Support projects from concept through to detailed design and construction
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams and key clients

The qualities that help you thrive

The following qualifications and experience are highly desired, but if you don't tick all the boxes you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered.

  • 5–10 years' post-graduate experience in civil engineering (roads/highways focus)
  • Strong experience working on Queensland TMR projects
  • Proven capability in detailed design within a consultancy environment
  • RPEQ – essential
  • Experience with tools such as 12d, Civil 3D or similar
  • A collaborative approach and willingness to get stuck into a busy team

Why join AECOM

You'll be part of a high-performing highways team delivering meaningful infrastructure across Queensland and beyond.

We'll give you the opportunity to:

  • Work on technically challenging, career-defining projects
  • Collaborate with industry-leading experts across Australia and New Zealand
  • Grow your career within a global business that invests in its people
  • Be part of a culture where you can bring your whole self to work

Why you'll love working with us

  • Flexible work arrangements, including alternative start/finish times, part-time, job-sharing and hybrid work options
  • Purchase up to 6 weeks additional annual leave per year
  • Volunteer and representation leave
  • Flex public holidays – swap Easter or other holidays for ones that suit you better

Ready to push the limits of what's possible?

We welcome applications from individuals of all backgrounds, including those with disabilities, additional health or mental health needs, and/or neurodiverse conditions. If you require any adjustments during the hiring process, please let us know.
