Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Water Resources Engineer to join our growing Water Resources group in Seattle, Washington.

As a Water Resources Project Engineer, you will have the opportunity to work with design staff and team members on a wide range of water resources projects including but not limited to any of the following: floodplain modeling and mapping studies, municipal water resources projects, water resources planning studies, stream restoration and fish passage design, dam removal, dam safety studies, or analysis and design of stormwater or highway drainage systems.

This position is expected to begin in July 2025.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling
  • Preparing working drawings, plans, cost estimates, studies, reports, and other work products
  • Analysis and design of stormwater drainage system, hydraulic structures, and highway drainage systems
  • Field work
  • Ability to perform independent tasks, reviewing technical work of others
  • Writing technical reports and memoranda
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in ArcGIS, HEC-RAS, and Python.
  • Certificate in Geospatial Information Systems
