Entry-Level Structural Dam Safety Engineer

AECOM is seeking a highly talented Entry-Level Structural Dam Safety Engineer to join the East Region Dams Practice. This position will support a variety of Dam Safety Engineering projects across the East Region. The successful candidate will join the ENR consistently ranked #1 Dams and Reservoirs firm and have access to exciting career advancement opportunities. This position will report to the AECOM Conshohocken, PA office.
This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2026.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Provide technical support for projects including stability and strength analyses, structural design, Potential Failure Mode Analyses, Semi-Quantitative Risk Assessments, site inspection, construction observation, and regulatory compliance activities associated with a variety of hydraulic structures.
- Prepare structural evaluation reports, drawings, and specifications for dam projects. Preparation of structural drawings and visual aids through coordination with CAD team.
- Prepare and perform quality reviews of other Engineer's work on deliverables such design calculations, engineering reports, construction drawings, and technical specifications.
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams on a variety of Dam Safety Engineering projects.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel for project work part time as needed.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering with demonstrated coursework in Structural Engineering such as reinforced concrete design, statics, structural dynamics and mechanics of materials or demonstrated equivalency of education and/or experience.
- Must have a valid U.S driver's license and as a condition of employment, must be able to pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records review.
- Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Successful completion of Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
- Master of Science Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Structural Engineering.
- Experience with related software such as AutoCAD, Mathcad, and commercially available structural analysis software (STADD Pro, SAP2000, Ansys, etc.).
Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Travel is required for this position.
