Job Description

AECOM is seeking a CAD Modeling Transit Engineer (BRT) III to be based in Austin, TX. to join our growing transit engineering practice focused on advancing our digital delivery of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects.

Job responsibilities:

  • Be a lead CAD/BIM designer on preliminary design studies and final design of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects.
  • Coordinate, cooperate, and work collaboratively with other team members.
  • Support the business development of the AECOM Bus Rapid Transit Design Group, specifically in our efforts to be on the forefront of digital delivery.
  • Lead a team preparing engineering models drawings with visual aids for BRT infrastructure.
  • Assists with the engineering design of Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) projects—including the design of BRT transit guideways, BRT stations, transit terminals, roadway and pedestrian facilities, utility infrastructure, traffic control, pavement marking and signing.
  • Perform work following an agreed-upon budget and schedule with little supervision.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Professional Engineer's License.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in supporting our effort to increase digital delivery of projects spanning the entire lifecycle, focusing mostly from planning and preliminary engineering to final engineering and final certification of the project.
  • Experience working with AutoCAD Civil 3D including site modeling, corridor modeling, and plan production.
  • Experience in engineering design projects for city, state and urban municipalities, and/or transit agencies.
  • Experience designing transit (ideally BRT infrastructure) and/or transportation infrastructure.
  • Experience writing LISPs and/or using DYNAMO and/or PYTHON.
  • Experience working with Bentley MicroStation/OpenRoads/OpenRail.
  • Experience working between Revit and DWGs or DGNs.
  • Knowledgeable of IFC files
  • Experience with business development and client relations.
  • Experience with oversight of junior staff.
  • Able to work out of our Austin, TX. office.

U.S. work sponsorship is not offered with this opportunity. Offered rate of compensation (Austin, TX. and statewide) area only will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The annual salary for this opportunity is $110,000.00 - $160,000.00.

Occasional travel may be required.
