Assistant Engineer - Rail - Low Voltage

AECOM's Enterprise Capabilities team is looking for an Assistant Engineer - Electrical and Power to join our team in Bengaluru.

Job Description

  • Support the delivery of electrical design packages across rail infrastructure projects
  • Design of Stations M&E, Rail Lineside M&E Low voltage systems including but not limited to Platform Lighting, LV Power Distribution, Points Heating, and Signalling Power
  • Prepare key elements of design deliverables including technical reports, electrical calculations, lighting calculations and CAD drawings in industry standard software
  • Coordinate with colleagues in other rail disciplines to ensure design proposals are consistent and coherent across all design submissions
  • Undertake desktop studies, record searches and desktop site surveys to assess available records and existing site conditions prior to design development
  • Familiarity with the full project lifecycle – from feasibility and concept design through to detailed design and construction support
  • Familiarity with the use of international, UK Network Rail, and Railway Group Standards as well as the relevant British Standards and Eurocodes.

Qualifications

  • Master of Engineering degree (or equivalent education) in an appropriate engineering discipline from an accredited college or university.
  • 1 to 3 Years of Experience
  • Foundational understanding of Electrical Engineering principles, preferably with exposure to rail or infrastructure projects.
  • Good working knowledge of low voltage systems including but not limited to Stations LV, Platform Lighting, LV Power Distribution, Points Heating, and Signalling Power
  • Familiarity with design tools like MicroStation, Trimble Pro Design/Electrical OM, ETAP and DiaLux Evo
  • Awareness of CDM Regulations, design safety principles and risk assessment
  • Good technical writing and documentation skills; capable of supporting report preparation and design submissions.
  • Effective communication and coordination abilities; able to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and take direction from senior engineers.
