AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in New York, New York October 15-17. This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026.

The event kicks off on Wednesday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm, where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. You'll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.

On Thursday and Friday, interviews will take place at our New York office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.

AECOM is seeking an Entry-Level Structural Engineer to be based in New York, NY.

This position is expected to begin in Spring/Summer 2026. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Undertaking design and planning activities on maritime projects - container terminals, mining/bulk, oil/gas, marinas, ports and harbors, coastal resiliency, and development schemes.
• Undertaking design and planning activities on vertical building structural projects – aviation facilities, transit stations, freight rail facilities, and ancillary buildings related to roadway projects.
• Preparing structural design utilizing hand calculations, Excel workbooks, and advanced structural analysis software to determine applied loading, demand requirements, and appropriate foundation and member specifications.
• Preparing structural technical sketches, drawings, specifications and reports under the supervision of senior staff.
• Exercising judgment in developing details of work in making preliminary selections and adaptations of engineering alternatives.
• Coordinating with other in-house engineering disciplines as needed.
• Performing condition assessments and site visits as needed. Occasional short to medium term site visits may also become necessary depending on project requirements.

Minimum Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related field or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications: Engineer in Training (EIT) certification. Master of Science (with Structural Engineering concentration). Experience with computer analysis and design software such as SAP 2000, STAAD.Pro, and SAFE. Experience with Revit and AutoCAD. Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Permanent residency sponsorship is available for current H1-B visa holders in the United States. This position requires a hybrid work schedule which includes in office work in New York, NY. The selected candidate must be available to work in New York, NY on a scheduled basis.
