Stationary Engineer Controls Technician

The role you'll contribute: Responsible for operating and maintaining the hospital Central Energy Plant (CEP). This plant includes steam boilers, water cooled centrifugal chillers, diesel generators, diesel fire pump, medical air, vacuum, and gas systems. Ensures all plant equipment is operating within design specifications. Must have repair and maintenance knowledge of commercial plumbing and HVAC systems. Must have knowledge of high- and low-pressure steam systems. Must have experience with commercial Building Automation Systems (BAS). Must be flexible in schedule to work any shift, days, on-call hours and holidays.

The value you'll bring to the team:

  • Continuously works toward plant optimization and improvement.
  • Conducts daily rounds and inspections of the CEP equipment.
  • Keeps accurate logs of daily CEP readings, reacts to reading that are out of range.
  • Performs water testing for chillers and boilers, making necessary adjustments when out of range.
  • Inform Facilities Manager of equipment breakdowns or failures (including nights and weekends).

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications:

  • High School graduate or G.E.D required
  • Valid Florida Drivers License
  • EPA Universal Technician or ability to obtain within 90 days

Preferred qualifications:

  • BAS controls certification
  • Boiler Operator License
  • Forklift Certificate
