The Role

The Product Development Group is looking for Test Engineers focused on our Datacenter Accelerated Computing products. We are looking for dynamic and energetic engineers to join our growing team. As a key contributor to the Product Development Group, you will work in our manufacturing site in cross-functional teams to deliver industry leading products for Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and High-Performance Computing (HPC) applications. Specifically, this role is focused on manufacturing test solutions and automation, validation, and cross-functional program management to help our manufacturing partners' deliver AMD's leading datacenter GPUs.

The Person

The ideal candidate for this role comes with a strong manufacturing, Datacenter System test, and debug background. You have impactful analytical thinking and problem solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Bringing experience working with cross-functional stakeholders, driving yield improvements to the manufacturing process. Ideally you have a strong interest in the manufacturing of GPU hardware and knowledge of AI, ML, and HPC products. You are able to work efficiently with minimal supervision, but thrive well in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop test strategy for new product features including identification, specification, design and qualification of test fixtures, test equipment and diagnostic software. Review and provide feedback for DFT in the early design stages. Debug complex hardware and software issues during build phases. Contribute to automated diagnostic generation and validation infrastructure. Define manufacturing hardware test solutions that translate into methodologies and processes applicable across Board and System product segments. Support the development of test content and solutions in Python. Investigate and introduce new manufacturing test technology and methodology to improve production efficiency. Identify and plan product improvement activities to reduce cost, improve yield and resolve quality issues. Solves complex, novel and non-recurring problems; initiates significant changes to existing processes/ methods and leads development and implementation. Contribute to our automated Diag generation and validation infrastructure. Review and provide feedback for DFT in the early design stages. May provide technical supervision or mentoring junior engineers. Influences others as a technical leader. Develop and maintain effective working relationship with other departments.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with computer hardware validation Experience working on System Level debug, testing, and design (L6-L10) Experience working with manufacturing test programs at platform level. Proven experience with post-silicon validation experience in Board or System products. Experience with Field analysis Experience with Rack set-up or Rack de-bug Industry experience with developing tests, patterns/vectors, timing, and diagnostics on Automated Test Equipment. Debug experience in hardware, software, device, and/or manufacturing domains. Background with Python programming and bash scripting. Experience with a scripting language (Perl, Ruby, shell script, or similar). Experience with Linux or Unix Operating Systems. Experience with revision control (GIT, SVN, CVS, RCS or similar). Solid Knowledge of IPMI, PCIE, BMC, and Thermal Solutions. Good communication skills and the ability to work with geographically distributed product engineering teams. BS or MS Degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
