The Role: The candidate will be leading internal audit/assessment related to Semiconductor Product development (silicon, embedded system software, Tools and Soft IP) as well as problem investigation and corrective action.

Job Responsibilities: Perform internal safety process audit and assessments across Adaptive and Embedded Computing Group products. Provide early feedback to the development teams on audit/assessments. Create internal audit and assessment reports. Perform confirmation reviews of the safety related work products under development. Applies broad understanding of industry standards (ISO 26262, IEC 61508, ISO 13849 and DO-254) to ensure product safety standards are met Drive continual improvement activities with cross functional teams to assess, develop, implement, and control product, software, and IP quality processes and procedures. Use the corporate Corrective and Preventive Action system to drive root cause determination and implement improvements Document, communicate, and provide process guidance on variances from requirements among process owners, stakeholders, and management Able to review documents (work products) with patience and carefulness. Represents AMD in compliance discussions / audits with registrars for all elements of a functional safety certification Works independently to drive compliance to functional safety standards among AMD groups. The candidate is expected to communicate effectively and extensively with internal customers, Functional Safety Management and Quality management, effectively for the successful implementation of this job function. Travel as required domestically and internationally.
Preferred Experience: Experience with SoC development, application development, Software implementation Strong knowledge of ISO 26262, IEC 61508 and ISO 13849 functional safety standards and its application to semiconductor products. Knowledge of and experience with safety analyses: DFMEA, FMEDA, DFA Proven experience in productively engaging with cross-functional global development teams Functional safety audit and assessment experience. Prior experience as a hardware and/or software development engineer. Strong communications skill set (written, verbal and active listening), interpersonal skill set, and attention to detail. Education: BS or MS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science Location: Austin, TX
