Mechanical Engineer II

Responsible for all mechanical related tasks in the TWN Mechanical Engineering to support and provide deliverables throughout the design standardization, New Program Introduction (NPI) development, as well as sustaining of Legacy models in accordance with customer requirements, regulatory standards, and company quality policy. Aims are satisfactory results of OTD (On Time Delivery) against the committed schedule, high quality, cost-effective design, and customer satisfaction in multiple projects simultaneously as well as in good quality results.

Key Results Areas / Duties, Responsibilities & Time Spent on the Duty

  • New Program Introduction (NPI) development
  • Supporting all mechanical related activities/deliverables in NPI development starting from Proto to PVT
  • Activities include, but not limited to, mechanical design, mechanical design verification tests, Reliability Engineering (RE) test support, design review meeting, customer conference call, factory DFM review, factory build support…etc
  • Deliverables include, but not limited to, CRTM, test/design check report, Tolerance analysis report, thermal, acoustic, airflow test, design document for customer approval, info to Engineering Coordinator (EC) for BOM or document release, BOM for factory build, part design drawing, assembly drawing…etc
  • RFQ development
  • Support/provide deliverables to senior and/or Lead engineer/design team manager in RFQ development activities
  • Propose conceptual design packaging and mechanical design/thermal simulation to be included in technical proposal for customer
  • Estimated RFQ BOM/tooling cost for mechanical items in RFQ BOM costing
  • Sustaining engineering of Legacy model
  • Support/provide deliverables for all sustaining engineering for all Legacy model activities not limited to documentation changes and evaluations
  • Follow up customer/factory request of changes or solution for improving yield to mass production model
  • Prepare PCN documents for customer approval and following ECO for implementation
  • Technical Support/Interface
  • Cross-site team work on product design validation, sustaining quality improvement to achieve synergy in cooperative perspective

  • Knowledge
  • Metal/Plastic parts design for power supply
  • Experience in sheet metal/plastic tooling & manufacturing
  • Design for manufacturing
  • Knowledge in GDT
  • Skills
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling & 2D CAD tool
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Presentation skill in verbal (English and Mandarin) or document
  • Airflow/acoustic/thermal experiment
  • Abilities & Behavior
