Software Development Engineer - Adobe Express (with AI/ML Expertise)

Senior Engineer Opportunity In Bucharest

We're building the Presentations feature inside Adobe Express - a product embraced by millions of people to tell stories, pitch ideas, and build content that moves people.

Our search is for a senior engineer in Bucharest who cares as much about the why behind the work as the how. This isn't a "pick up tickets and ship" role.

You'd be crafting how AI and creativity combine in a product people genuinely love. This includes generative slide layouts, AI-powered copywriting, and a real-time collaborative editing engine built on C++/WASM and TypeScript.

What You'd Work On:

Owning backend systems and APIs that power Presentations at scale - performance, reliability, and iteration speed matter here

Building and improving AI/ML-powered features: generative presentations

Collaborating with Product and Design to spot the right problems to solve - not just implement specs, but bring your own perspective on what users need

Driving technical decisions (ADRs), mentoring peers, and keeping a large, fast paced codebase healthy

What We're Looking For:

8+ years of engineering experience

Strong TypeScript/JavaScript - you're at home in a monorepo with Lit web components, MobX, Webpack/Rspack, and Rush/Bazel

Hands-on AI/ML experience - LLMs, TensorFlow.js, or similar in production

C++ or systems programming background - we use C++ and Emscripten for our rendering engine

Full-stack comfort across Node.js services, Redis

Product approach - you ask "does this actually help the user?" before shipping

Bonus:

WebAssembly / web workers experience

You've led technical design across multi-engineer features
